NT Bowlers Prove Masters at Arafura Games 2009

Darwin’s Ronald Voukolos won his first major title by taking gold in the Arafura Games Masters Event in Tenpin Bowling this evening.

For 15 games during the qualifying rounds he was not able to catch the leader, Alice Springs bowler, Scott Richards but disposed of him in the Grand Final match 392 to 360.

NT team mate Natalie Shelley, who is a member of the current Australian World Championship Team, convincingly took the title from the Arafura Games NT Flag bearer, Yvette Thompson, 411 to 277.

Medal ceremonies take place at 8.30am until 2.00pm at The Planet.
