The Men’s Elite and U19 Criterium was a fast-paced affair that sped through the streets of Darwin to the delight of passers by.

Tobias Boylan from Bundaberg, Qld, finished first followed by Darwin’s Chris Loynes and Chris Brown from Western Australia.

In the U19 division Malaysia’s Mohammad Adig Ottman was first and Tong Hin Cheang from Macau was second to finish.

“Great day of racing,” said Steve Tiley, Arafura Games 2009 cycling coordinator. “We had a lot of spectators and the energy from the crowd really spurred the riders on.”

The last of the cycling events is the Road Race, which takes place at Hidden Valley from 6:30am on Sunday morning.
