A trip down Arafura Games memory lane

Sat, May 07 2011

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the inception of the Arafura Games, former volunteers and staff members will be gathering in Darwin on the weekend.

Assistant Games manager from 1996 to 2001, Jan Waddy, said she was excited about coming back to catch up with other “old-timers” for a trip down memory lane.

“Over the years so many people have been involved in the Arafura Games – and some of them have been doing it for years and years – it will be great to get together to share memories and stories,” she said.

Former Arafura Games volunteers, athletes and workforce members are invited to join the old-timer’s party at the Darwin Sailing Club on Sunday, 8 May, from 12.30pm till late.
