Arafura Games

International Sports Conference

The most up-to-date version of the International Sports Conference Program is displayed below.

The International Sports Conference is an integral part of the Arafura Games program. The conference provides development opportunities to the athletes, administrators, coaches and officials. The conference will be held at the new Darwin Convention Centre, at the Waterfront.

With opportunities to share knowledge, exchange information and learn about current issues relevant to their sporting context, the program offers something for all.

The Conference program attracts high profile speakers from around the world who speak on a variety of current topics affecting the sports industry.  The conference program includes a range of practical, theoretical and workshop sessions.

“The 2009 Arafura International Sports Conference will play a valuable role in helping to achieve one of the fundamental principles of the Arafura Games – the sharing of knowledge. I am anticipating a highly insightful, thorough and enriching Conference, and look forward to engaging with the impressive group of presenters who will assemble over the two days. I’m particularly excited that the International Paralympic Committee Women in Sport Summit has been incorporated into this year’s Conference. It will rightfully highlight the integral role women play in sport at all levels.” Miles Murphy, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Paralympic Committee.

Cost of the conference is AUD$50.00.
