Competition Details:

The 2011 Arafura Games Football competition will take a youth driven direction, offering Under 18 Men and Under 18 Women round robin competitions. National Youth Development squads from the Asia and Pacific regions are encouraged to register.

The tournament will incorporate the Timor Sea Cup, an annual trilateral football competition between the Northern Territory, Timor-Leste, and Nusa-Tengarra Timur. Timor-Leste is the current champions and will be out to retain the Cup.

Eligibility/Entry Standards:

Competitors must meet the following age requirements:

Men: players must be born between 1 January 1993 and 31 December 1995

Women: players must be born between 1 January 1994 and 31 December 1996

IMPORTANT: Each team is required to supply a referee with a minimum national grading to assist with officiating throughout the tournament. The competition is also a great opportunity for official development. Any teams not able to meet this requirement must contact the coordinator as early as possible.

All teams must be endorsed by the relevant International Federation. Registration will not be finalised and accepted until endorsement is received. Endorsement information is provided at time of registration and should be gained by the appropriate organisation prior to registering any athletes to ensure there are no delays in the process.

We welcome the participation of one team per State or Territory from around Australia. Entry to the tournament is only available to an affiliated club/Zone/State of a FFA member. All Australian (interstate) teams must be endorsed by their relevant State Federation. This is to fulfil the protocols involved in visiting another part of the Australian Football Family. A letter confirming that all registered participants of that travelling team are covered by the state bodies insurances (i.e. public liability and for personal accident or injury) will also be required.

Training Information:

Teams will be allocated training sessions prior to competition commencing. Teams may also consider training at alternate venues around Darwin including Bagot Park Oval and Malak Oval. Please contact Football Federation NT on +61 8 8941 2444 or via email at football@arafuragames.net to arrange a time or for more information.
