Tenpin Bowling General Information

Competition Details:
The 2011 Arafura Games Tenpin Bowling competition is sanctioned by the Asian Bowling Federation as well as Tenpin Bowling Australia and will again combine the Australasian Youth Championships, the highlight of the competition being Arafura Games Masters and Australasian Youth Masters. The Youth event provides an opportunity for youth bowlers to compete in an international event for future National competitors.
Targeted at the developing youth bowler, the Australasian Youth Championships is an Under 23 open event.
There is no fee to compete in the competition except for additional qualifying entries and the Masters final lineage.
Eligibility/Entry Standards:
Athletes wishing to compete in the Australasian Youth Championships must be Under 23 years of age at the 1 January 2011.
All competitiors must be members of Tenpin Bowling Australia or an equivalent National Federation to be eligible to compete.
Endorsement:
All bowlers must be endorsed by the relevant National Federation. Registration will not be finalised and accepted until endorsement is received. Endorsement information is provided at time of registration and should be gained by the appropriate organisation prior to registering any athletes to ensure there are no delays in the process.
Training Information:
Teams can get practice lanes by contacting The Planet upon arrival at the Games. Official practice session is free but additional practice will be at practice lineage rates.
Managers Meeting:
The Managers Meeting will be held at a time to be advised on the morning of Saturday 7 May 2011. Further information will be available closer to the Games.
Medal Ceremony:
Tenpin Bowling Medal Ceremony will take place on Friday 13 May and all teams must be in team uniform to receive their medals. The Organising Committee reserves the right to refuse an athlete to participate in the ceremony if they are not appropriately attired.
